How to fix   Long Method

Long Method

Small methods make your code easier to understand, in particular if combined with a good name. Besides, if your method is small, finding a good name is usually much easier.

For example, if you find yourself adding comments to a method's body, this is usually a good sign to extract the commented part to a new method, and use the comment as a starting point when coming up with a good name for this new method.

It seems like $addon_name defined by preg_replace('#(/+)#', '...this->argument('name')) on line 75 can also be of type array<integer,string>; however, Jumilla\Addomnipot\Laravel\Environment::exists() does only seem to accept string, maybe add an additional type check?

If a method or function can return multiple different values and unless you are sure that you only can receive a single value in this context, we recommend to add an additional type check:

/**
 * @return array|string
 */
function returnsDifferentValues($x) {
    if ($x) {
        return 'foo';
    }

    return array();
}

$x = returnsDifferentValues($y);
if (is_array($x)) {
    // $x is an array.
}

If this a common case that PHP Analyzer should handle natively, please let us know by opening an issue.

It seems like $this->option('space') targeting Illuminate\Console\Command::option() can also be of type array; however, Jumilla\Addomnipot\Larav...nvironment::spacePath() does only seem to accept string, maybe add an additional type check?

This check looks at variables that are passed out again to other methods.

If the outgoing method call has stricter type requirements than the method itself, an issue is raised.

An additional type check may prevent trouble.

This code seems to be duplicated across your project.

Duplicated code is one of the most pungent code smells. If you need to duplicate the same code in three or more different places, we strongly encourage you to look into extracting the code into a single class or operation.

You can also find more detailed suggestions in the “Code” section of your repository.
