The expression $modules of type string|array is not guaranteed to be traversable. How about adding an additional type check?

There are different options of fixing this problem.

  1. If you want to be on the safe side, you can add an additional type-check:

    $collection = json_decode($data, true);
    if ( ! is_array($collection)) {
        throw new \RuntimeException('$collection must be an array.');
    }

    foreach ($collection as $item) { /** ... */ }

  2. If you are sure that the expression is traversable, you might want to add a doc comment cast to improve IDE auto-completion and static analysis:

    /** @var array $collection */
    $collection = json_decode($data, true);

    foreach ($collection as $item) { /** .. */ }

  3. Mark the issue as a false-positive: Just hover the remove button, in the top-right corner of this issue for more options.

The class WP_Post does not exist. Did you forget a USE statement, or did you not list all dependencies?

This error could be the result of:

1. Missing dependencies

PHP Analyzer uses your composer.json file (if available) to determine the dependencies of your project and to determine all the available classes and functions. It expects the composer.json to be in the root folder of your repository.

Are you sure this class is defined by one of your dependencies, or did you maybe not list a dependency in either the require or require-dev section?

2. Missing use statement

PHP does not complain about undefined classes in ìnstanceof checks. For example, the following PHP code will work perfectly fine:

if ($x instanceof DoesNotExist) {
    // Do something.
}

If you have not tested against this specific condition, such errors might go unnoticed.

It seems like $modules defined by $moduleListEndpoint->get_modules() on line 254 can also be of type string; however, Jetpack_React_Page::get_flattened_settings() does only seem to accept array, maybe add an additional type check?

If a method or function can return multiple different values and unless you are sure that you only can receive a single value in this context, we recommend to add an additional type check:

/**
 * @return array|string
 */
function returnsDifferentValues($x) {
    if ($x) {
        return 'foo';
    }

    return array();
}

$x = returnsDifferentValues($y);
if (is_array($x)) {
    // $x is an array.
}

If this a common case that PHP Analyzer should handle natively, please let us know by opening an issue.

Unused Code introduced by
The call to apply_filters() has too many arguments starting with array('w' => 64).

This check compares calls to functions or methods with their respective definitions. If the call has more arguments than are defined, it raises an issue.

If a function is defined several times with a different number of parameters, the check may pick up the wrong definition and report false positives. One codebase where this has been known to happen is Wordpress.

In this case you can add the @ignore PhpDoc annotation to the duplicate definition and it will be ignored.

Unused Code introduced by
The call to remove_filter() has too many arguments starting with 2.
